1. What is the RDN Platform?

RDN Platform is an online service established to build radically thinking connections between experts, professionals, investors, entrepreneurs, and enterprises in Africa and anywhere in the world. The Platform strives to make innovative ideas accessible to users and promote research by creating inside-out professional links, building a strong business/working relationship, enhancing professional development and providing technical solutions. In doing so, our platform provides users with necessary tools to Connect and collaborate; Share and discuss new ideas; Publish and access online publications; Post project/job, hire experts and outsource; Search, bid freelance projects/jobs; Buy and sell innovative products/services; Upload, share and download data; Advertise services and products; Collaborate and provide consultancy; and Create professional/business blogs for their products/services.

 

2. Who operates the RDN Platform?

RDN Platform is operated by Research and Development Network Limited (RDN). RDN is a limited registered company in the United Republic of Tanzania with registration number 94008 and trade/service mark number TZ/S/2015/203. The RDN was established in 2012 in the United Republic of Tanzania with the mission of building radically thinking connections between Research, innovation and real-world experience and making innovative ideas accessible. It engages a network of researchers, innovators, practitioners, policymakers, investors, entrepreneurs and any professionals/expertise to rethink how research and innovation can be delivered to provide solutions and increase productivity.

 

3. Do I need an account to use RDN Platform?

Yes, you must register/sign up to use RDN Platform services. It is FREE to register.

About Connections

1.Who can I connect to RDN Platform?

You can connect with any RDN member either experts, professionals, investors or entrepreneurs anywhere in the world. You have to review and choose who to connect and then request a connection. 

 

2. Can I cancel my connection?

You may cancel your connection if you’re not interested anymore.

About Submitting/ Posting projects/jobs

1. What kind of project can be submitted?

You may submit any research or digital project/work from any field of specialization anywhere in the world.  The project may be very small, small, medium, large or very large.

 

2. How much will cost to submit a project?

It will cost nothing to submit a project. It is free to submit a project.

 

3. Can I submit a project without having membership plan?

You can not submit a project without having membership plan. You have to subscribe to Economy plan which is free.

 

4. How can I buy a subscription for membership plan?

Click submit a project and then Finance, choose to buy a subscription and then select your plan either Economy (Free), Premier or Business. Click continues to complete your payment. Please note that economy plan is free; just complete the subscription process it will cost nothing.

 

5. How many projects can be submitted?

The number of projects to be submitted depends on membership subscription plan. Please see the plan that elaborates how many projects can someone submit.

 

6. Is it necessary to promote my project?

It depends on the type of project you submit and its requirement. You can promote your project if:-

  • You want Freelancer to sign Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and keep your project details and file confidentially.
  • You want bidder for your project not be able to see what others are bidding.
  • You need to receive a faster response and your project to be done immediately.
  • Your project requires confidentiality
  • You need your project to be included in featured projects and appear on the homepage. Featured projects attract more and high-quality bids.

 

7. How can I choose the best expert for my project?

  • Review bids submitted
  • Review Expert profile
  • Compare bids and selected the best one

 

8. How can I pay Expert?

You can pay Expert by milestone or full and final payment for a completed project by using escrow payment. The Expert has to submit an invoice and supporting documents about the payment to RDN Platform finance team, you will be required to approve the payment before fund released to Expert account. Please note that you have to deposit fund to your account before the project commenced.

 

 9. What is escrow payment?

Escrow payment is online payment facilitation service where you can make payment either by milestone or full and final payment for completed project or services/product. Escrow Payment serves as a guarantee for payments made for specific freelancer or person under specific conditions. Generally, Escrow Payment guaranteeing that an employer/buyer payment to employee/Freelancer/seller will be received on time and for the correct amount after completing the project as agreed.  Please, not that, Escrow is not a bank or financial institution, it facilitates payment by ensuring that both parts fulfill their obligations.

 

10. How can I deposit fund into my account?

Click submits project/find projects and then Finance, select deposit funds, enter the deposit amount, click continue and checkout and finally use RDN Bank details to transfer funds.

About searching and bidding for projects

1. How much will it cost to bid on the project? 

It is free to bid for a project. Therefore it will cost nothing.

 

2. How many projects can I bid?

The number of projects you can bid depends on membership subscription plan. Please see the plan that elaborates how many projects can someone bid.

 

3. Can I bid for a project without having a membership plan?

You cannot bid for a project without having membership subscription plan. Please note that Economy plan is Free.

About Escrow Payment

1. What is escrow payment?

Escrow payment is online service where you can make payment either by milestone or full and final payment for completed project or services/product. Please remember, you have to deposit fund into your account to make payment by using escrow.

 

2. How can I deposit fund into my account?

Click submits project/find projects and then Finance, select deposit funds, enter the deposit amount, click continue and checkout and finally use RDN Bank details to transfer funds.

 

3. How can I buy the subscription for membership plan?

Click submit project/find projects and then Finance, choose to buy a subscription and then select your plan either Economy (Free), Premier or Business. Click continues to complete your payment. Note under economy it is free; just complete the payment it will cost you nothing.

About RDN Plaform e-library

1. What categories of publication can be submitted in RDN Platform e-library?

RDN Platform e-library accommodates more than 12 publication categories including Book, Chapter in Book, Review, Journal Articles, Major Creative Work, Patent, Thesis Accepted for Higher Degree, Contract Report & Consultant’s Report, Computer Software, Technical Drawing, Working Model, Design and other Creative Work. 

About RDN Platform Forums

1. How do I post a new topic?

Log in or sign up, click forums (top menu), click a new topic, select your desired forum, enter a subject and main massage and finally submit. You may review your post before to submit.

 

2. Can I post a new topic or reply to any forum?

You can post a new topic or reply to the topic to the main forums and featured forum. Other Forums which includes Enterprises, Business and Professionals need membership subscription to post new topic or reply.

 

3. How do I receive emails whenever anything is posted in the entire forum?

Enter the desired forum and then click subscribe.  You will receive an email whenever something new is posted.

 

4. How do I receive emails when someone responds to the question I posted?

Enter the desired forum, click the topic you posted and then click subscribe.  You will only receive an email whenever something new is posted to your topic.

 

5. How do I stop receiving email notifications?

Enter forum or topic area and ensure that the box next to click here to subscribe to this forum is UNCHECKED.

 

6. What is board categories?

Board categories is a list of all RDN Platform forums. Click board categories and select your desired forum.

 

3. What is a maximum size of a file to be uploaded? 

About RDN Platform e-shopping

1. How do I view what's in my shopping cart?

Click on the “View Cart” icon in the top menu-right corner of your computer screen. Once you click on this icon, you can view what’s in your shopping cart. You can also delete any item in your cart by clicking the “delete” image in the quantity and then save.

 

2. How will I know that you have received my order?

After you complete the checkout process, a receipt will appear including shipping charges, your billing address, and the items that are being sent to your shipping address. You will also receive confirmation via e-mail that we have received your order. Note: enter your e-mail address correctly on the order form so that we can be sure to deliver your confirmation to you.

 

3. Can I change my address or suspend delivery of my transaction?

You may change your address within two weeks before you move. Please write, e-mail, or phone our sales department (sales@rdnplatform.com). In your correspondence, include your old address, new address, as well as any instructions you might have regarding suspending delivery of your subscription.

 

4.What is your returns policy?
If for some reason you are not satisfied and you wish to return your purchase, you will email our sale team sales@rdnplaform.com to obtain an approval number.  Please follow the following instruction to return your purchase once you obtain approval number:-

  • The item should be in resalable condition.
  • Copy of invoice should be enclosed.
  • Ship the package to our returns team.

 

5. How can I sell my product to the RDN Platform marketplace?

Click on the e-shopping, click submit under the Sell your products below the list of categories. Once you click submit, you will fill important information about your company, contacts, product(s) description and image, attach detailed documents and finally submit your request. Our sales team will contact you to verify your products and finalize other logistics.

 

6. What should I do if I can't find what I want to sell in the e-shopping categories?

Click on the e-shopping, click submit under the Sell your products below the list of categories. Once you click submit, you will fill important information about your company, contacts, product(s) description and image, attach detailed documents and finally submit your request. Our sales team will contact you to verify your products and create a category for your product (s).

 

7. How will I know when I have a sale?

After we have authorized buyer payment method we will inform you by email. You can see order and obtain shipping information and confirm shipments.

 

8. How will RDN Platform ensure buyer and seller fulfill their responsibilities?

RDN Platform uses escrow payment method whereby buyer has to deposit funds into his account before we have confirmed the order and inform seller. For buyer not using escrow payment method, RDN authorizes the payment method before we have confirmed the order and inform seller. RDN will release funds to the seller after the buyer has received the order.

 

9. Are there any fees for selling?

Fees for selling depending on a membership plan. For those who do not have membership plan (registered users) and economy, a plan is 5%, the premier plan is 3% and business plan is 0.99% per item are applied when a sale occurs.
